10 SPIRITUAL LESSONS: Spiritual Growth and Lupus
Lupus has been a difficult teacher; and often her lessons have been unwelcome.
But, even in the midst of adversity some gems can be harvested through the chaos of living with a chronic disease.
Here are some lessons I have learned along the way:
1. The more I learn, the less I know.
2. Everyone has a story; what each person has to say is important.
3. Tears cause no harm; tears heal.
4. To believe that I can control another human being is to believe in an illusion.
5. Suffering is inevitable; so is joy.
6. God made baby raccoons and baby bunnies to teach us how fragile life really is...
and when we don't pay attention there is always cancer there to remind us.
7. Today's enemy is tomorrow's teacher.
8. When you go on a journey, you always have to leave someone behind.
9. You can not graciously receive a gift if your mouth and hands are full.
10. Hold close to your heart only that which strengthens your spirit.
